I have a PhD and an MSc in public health and a BSc (honours) in genetics from the University of Aberdeen.
I worked at Aberdeen University for six years on three projects:
• Measuring maternal mortality in Ghana
• Developing nutrition standards in complex emergencies
• Evaluating a complex men’s health intervention in Scotland
Subsequently I worked on the Healthy Respect project at NHS Lothian evaluating the effectiveness of a teenage sexual health project.
I now work at NHS Health Scotland on a number of different topics including tobacco control, alcohol consumption and outcomes planning. I am part of the team working on the Monitoring and Evaluation of Scottish Alcohol Strategy (MESAS) study and chair the Outcomes Framework group.
