Andrew SARN photoAndrew is a Clinical Academic Research Fellow at GCU and also Senior Research Nurse with the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (CRF). Andrew has recently sat his viva exam and is currently making changes to his thesis. His research compared alcohol treatment groups in the West of Scotland.
At the CRF, he is Lead Nurse for the Collaborative Study in the Genetics of Alcohol (COGA) in Glasgow.
Andrew has worked at Glasgow Royal Infirmary for the Acute Addiction Liaison service. There, he first authored a publication for the Quarterly Journal of Medicine on the properties of the Glasgow Modified Alcohol Withdrawal Scale (GMAWS). He has also published on the Glasgow management of drug misuse for the acute hospitals. While working with the Acute Addiction Liaison service, he set up a clinic for patients with substance misuse and hepatitis C (HCV).
He is currently researching alcohol consumption and HCV treatment with partners from GCU and Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
