This evening symposium is being organised by the Scottish Alcohol Research Network (SARN) and Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP). This is a free satellite event of the 8th European Alcohol Policy Conference www.8eapc.eu. The main purpose is to share what is happening in alcohol research with a wider audience, with the aim of having an impact across and beyond academic circles.
The first SHAAP/SARN Symposium was held in 2016, attended by exceptional PhD and early career researchers from Scotland and beyond. They explored how to work innovatively in alcohol research and how to successfully engage with external audiences. A report from the first Symposium can be found here.
Testimony of one of the participants:
I found the symposium a really informative and enjoyable event in a beautiful setting. It was a great platform to present findings from my own research and to network with other PhD students and early career researchers. The presentations covered alcohol research from a variety of disciplines.
This event will be of interest to all attendees at the 8th European Alcohol Policy Conference and others more broadly concerned to think about how new research can help us understand alcohol in society.
